Summary

A combination of the Cumulative Report and the Trace Downstream models. January 2019 updated Sept 2019 updated Nov 2019 updated March 2020

Usage

This model was created for use within the Wetland Condition Assessment Tool (WetCAT) viewer. For more information about WetCAT go to http://www.deq.virginia.gov/Programs/Water/WetlandsStreams/MonitoringAssessmentStrategy.aspx

Syntax

Parameter Explanation
Input_Features

User defined input point. Point is obtained from user interaction in the WetCAT viewer.

Output_Polygon

The 1km buffer generated from the user input point. Buffer is used to clip various data layers for frequency analysis.

VaTechPreservation

This table returns the frequency of DEQ Permitted Preservation Sites within the 1 km buffer.

PermitsTable

This table returns the frequency of DEQ Individual Permits within the 1km buffer.

Impaired_waters_freq_table

This table returns the number of impaired waters within the 1km buffer.

huc10_Freq

This table returns the 10-digit hydrologic unit(s) huc code and, if available, huc name for the 1km buffer.

Conservation_Lands_Table

This table returns the number of conservation lands within the 1km buffer.

CountyBoundaries

This table returns the number of counties and the county names that intersect the 1km buffer.

Mitigation_Bank_Frequency_Table

This table returns the number of mitigation banks within the 1km buffer.

Soils_Frequency_Table

Returns a table showing the soils frequency within the 1km buffer. Values include soil name, drainage class, hydric soil, and soil order.

Soils_Order_Frequency_Table

This table returns the soil order percent within the selected HUC boundaries. Soil order are Alfisols, Entisols, Histosols, Inceptisols, Millisols, Spodosols, Ultisols, Vertisols, Water, and Not Classified.

Soils_Hydric_Frequency_Table

A table of hydric soil percentages is returned. Soils are classified as All Hydric, Not Hydric, Partially Hydric, Water, Unknown, and Not Classified.

Soils_Drainage_Frequency_Table

Soils drainage table gives the percentage for each drainage type within the selected HC boundaries. Soil drainage is classified as Excessively Drained, Somewhat Excessively Drained, Well Drained, Moderately Well Drained, Somewhat Poorly Drained, Poorly Drained, and Very Poorly Drained.

soils_MAX_TableSelect

Returns a table showing the soil type that occurs most frequently within the 1km buffer.

NWI_Mean_Table

A table showing the average habitat score and percent restoration value for the nontidal wetlands selected within the 1km buffer.

StressLevel_Table

This table returns information on the stress level of the wetlands within the 1km buffer.

NWI_ClassType_Statistics_Table

This table returns the average habitat and water quality scores, and the minimum and maximum scores for all the nontidal wetlands within the 1km buffer. Scores are presented by wetland class.

NWI_Score_Type_Table

This table returns the average , minimum and maximum wetland scores for the 1km buffer.

vaClass_7_watersTable

Virginia waters designated as "swamp waters" (or Class VII waters) by state code 9 VAC 25-260 as of January 6, 2011. Class VII waters are characterized by naturally occurring low pH and low dissolved oxygen caused by: (i) low flow velocity that prevents mixing and reaeration of stagnant, shallow waters and (ii) decomposition of vegetation that lowers dissolved oxygen concentrations and causes tannic acids to color the water and lower the pH.

This is the frequency of Class 7 waters within the 1km buffer.

vpdes_sites

This table returns the number of NPDES facilities within the 1km buffer.

DEQ_CombinedBoundariesTable

This table shows the number of Multiple Project Site Mitigation (MPSM) boundaries, Permittee Responsible Mitigation Area (PRMA) boundaries, and Virginia Water Protection Program (VWP) General and Individual Permit project boundaries that occur within the 1km buffer.

CorpsPermitTable

This table returns the number of US Army Corps of Engineers Permits within the 1km buffer.

vdotMitSiteTable

This table returns the number of VDOT Mitigation Site points within the 1km buffer.

NCPermits

This table returns the number of North Carolina 401 Water Quality Certifications (WQC) permits within the 1km buffer.

BufferTDS

A two kilometer buffer around the input point. This is the analysis window for creating the downstream path.

TDS_path

A downstream path generated from the user input point and a flow direction raster created from 1/3rd arc second National Elevation Dataset (NED) digital elevation grids (DEMs).

Buffer30_DownStreamPath

The downstream path is segmented into 30 roughly equal lengths and buffered 30 meters. Land use (from 2016 National Land Cover Dataset) and wetland habitat and water quality scores are reported for each segment.

Buffer_Intersect_impwtr_first

Impaired waters are intersected with the buffered downstream path. This shapefile reports the first instance of impaired waters encountered in the downstream path.
