Layer: Resource Protection Area (RPA) 100-ft Buffer (ID: 2)

Name: Resource Protection Area (RPA) 100-ft Buffer

Display Field: Source

Type: Feature Layer

Geometry Type: esriGeometryPolygon

Description: The RPA buffer is a 100-ft wide buffer landward of RPA features including wetlands and streams connected by surface flow to the Chesapeake Bay and/or tidal shores, except for the City of Virginia Beach and Arlington County, who also include slope variables into the RPA buffer definition. Individual localities' data varies in age and delineation approach. This layer was processed to depict only the 100-ft upland edge of localities' RPA's in order to capture just the 100-ft buffer, not RPA features like wetlands and streams. A 100-ft RPA buffer was created by CCRM for localities without existing mapped RPA layers. The 100-ft buffer lies landward of RPA features such as connected wetlands and perennial streams.
