Service Description: These polygon feature classes delineate general survey boundaries of private oyster ground leases and lease applications in Virginia. The datasets were generated from kmz files provided by the Virginia Marine Resources Commission(VMRC), the state agency responsible for regulating private oyster ground leases in Virginia. While private lease boundaries are legally defined, these datasets does not meet legal survey standards. The datasets described here provides a snapshot in time. VMRC performs daily updates on their internal lease dataset.
